Our Building and Grounds

Located in a low-density portion of the city, our 8+ acre property includes a 25,000 square-foot building, a separate parsonage, and approximately 150 off-street parking spaces in a lower and an upper parking lot. Approximately 30 percent of the site is developed with buildings and paved areas; the balance includes wetlands, wooded areas and steep terrain. The building is prominently sited at the edge of a plateau.

The church building is of a unique mid-century design that embraces the surrounding natural setting. The building includes three components; the Sanctuary to the left, the Religious Education (RE) wing to the right (with one central pod and 4 additional pods containing 3-4 classrooms each), and a central core area containing offices, kitchen, restrooms, and Fellowship Hall.

The Sanctuary at CUUC holds a maximum of 350 people. This space is surrounded by windows along two sides, with views of woods and formal gardens. Sliding glass doors allow access to gardens with grassy areas, benches, and flowering plants and trees. Seating and tables are movable, allowing for an intimate gathering, or maximum capacity. Options for technology include speaker systems, equipment for recorded music, a projector for video or pictures, and wireless headphones for assisted listening. A Steinway grand piano is available for live performances.

For a more intimate setting, the Fireside area is located at the back of the sanctuary and can hold a maximum of 50 people. Seating is movable. With advance notice, our Steinway grand piano can also be moved from an area adjacent at the front of the sanctuary up to the Fireside area.

Fellowship Hall is located in the center of the building and can hold a maximum of 125 people. This is often used for receptions, given its open space configuration and proximity to the kitchen. One wall is all windows looking at our beautiful landscaping. Doors on one side open to a small deck available for some outside seating and outdoor cooking. A Kawai grand piano is available for live music in Fellowship Hall.
